Local Safety Solutions
Every year, wildfires burn across the United States.Having experienced the 2014 King Fire and the 2015 Butte Fire, you know it’s not “if,” but “when” our communities see the next threat.
The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Firewise Communities/USA program encourages local solutions for safety by involving homeowners in taking individual responsibility for preparing their homes from the risk of wildfire.
A Collaborative Community is Key
Being a Firewise Community is a key component of Fire Adapted Communities – a collaborative approach that connects all those who play a role in wildfire education, planning and action with comprehensive resources to help reduce risk.
